Vitali Klitschko landed rights and lefts on the face of a determined Chris Arreola for 10 rounds before the referee stopped the WBC Heavyweight title bout. Klitschko improved his record to 38-2 while beating down another contender.
Arreola deserves credit for taking the fight to Vitali but once there it was Klitschko that dominated. Eating six punches while trying to land one wild punch is the reason Cristobal suffered the first loss in his 28 fight career.
The most difficult part of the night wasn’t watching Klitschko pound Arreola in the face. It was the post-fight interview that combined Larry Merchant’s slow, Yoda-like question style with Vitali’s poor use of the English language. Chris Arreola definitely did his best to entertain after the loss.
